Road safety improvements were completed along Scotts Road (Manurewa), including several traffic chicanes and raised pedestrian crossings. These traffic calming facilities will improve road safety along the route by encouraging slower vehicle speeds alongside a school and childcare centre.

 

Also, the raised pedestrian crossings and associated footpath upgrades will improve safety and amenity for pedestrians crossing Scotts Road. Design, delivery and construction was expedited by TES. The works will address Vulnerable User crashes previously reported along the study cordon, facilitating a ‘Safe System’ outcome for Auckland.
