This project radically upgraded a 1km section of the north-western cycleway in Kingsland to separate out cyclists and pedestrians. Several new innovations were implemented as part of this project including one of the first significant uses of ACO Kerbdrains in Auckland to combat notable overland flowpaths and flood plains. It is noted that during the major flooding in Auckland due to Cyclone Gabrielle, the cycleway was not damaged.
